I had to include the word decadent in the description because it’s how I felt when I was eating this. Holy wow! This burger is moist and flavorful. Please don’t get fat-free turkey, a little dark meat is not going to hurt you! I promise. These toppings worked in harmony but feel free to mix and match them. I served on a portobello “bun” but feel free to use a real bun, lettuce or no bun at all. Enjoy! Gourmet in minutes…….
Ingredients
- 1 lbs ground turkey
- 1/4 cup almond meal (or bread crumbs)
- 1/2 Tbsp Grill seasoning (I used the everyday seasoning from Trader Joes)
- 1/2 Tbsp sea salt
- 1 egg
- fruit spread any! I used fig, the kind you find in the cheese section. You could really use any good jam
- arugula
- thinly sliced apple
- spicy mustard
- crumbled blue cheese
Servings: Burgers
Instructions
- Combine first 5 ingredients. Mix well with hands
- Press into patties
- Grill on medium heat 3-4 minutes on each side. Throw some portobello mushroom caps on the grill too if you're using
- Layer turkey burger on 1/2 portobello, spread with jam, mustard and sliced apples. Add some arugula and blue cheese. Top with another portobello or eat open face with a fork and knife! Enjoy!!
